Kim Pham tried to leave Vietnam 14 times before finally making it out. But before she left, she first ensured the safe passage of nearly 500 of her fellow asylum seekers by way of an ingenious secret escape plan.
By 2000, Kim Pham had a spot for her atelier, Kim's Fashion Design, in Copley Place, the most luxurious shopping center in the entire city of Boston, USA. Now, 25 years later, she remains the mall's only surviving small business, working 10+ hour days alongside the likes of BOSS, Gucci, Ferragamo, YSL, Fendi and Moncler.
In Daughter Dragon Productions' anticipated 40-minute documentary, Kim Pham's astonishing narrative is presented in a sobering series of primary source interviews, b-roll shot on location in Boston and across Southeast Asia, and archival material from Kim's personal family records.

THE DRAGON STORY
The name Daughter Dragon Productions emerged after Kim Pham remarked that she and Sophie Arnstein, our Executive Producer, were “mother dragon and daughter dragon.” It helped that both women were born the same year in the zodiac cycle: 1952 and 2000, respectively.
